  1. Violet-crowned Hummingbird behavior LINK
    DATE: Jul 9, 2018 @ 12:22pm, 4 month(s) ago
    Hello all,
While managing Mile Hi/Ramsey Canyon Preserve many, many, moons ago we
noted several things about Violet-crowneds. They were often the least
numerous regular hummer next to White-eared (if that species can be
called regular at all!) Finding where they perched was the key to
showing them to others AND they were shy when you looked or pointed at
them (they usually flew away from their preferred perch.) They did not
seem to feed as often as most other species but did hang around perched
high up in the Sycamore Trees.
Don't know if any of that helps.
