VIOLET-CROWNED HUMMINGBIRD, Kern River Preserve back hummingbird feeders, Weldon, Kern County, California. A first for Kern County assuming acceptance based on 22 observers, pictures, video, plus written reports urged by Kelli Heindel Levinson. Present from 5:50am until c. 6:15am, today, Saturday, July 7, 2018.
No joy for me 8:30am through 1:30pm. Kelli Heindel Levinson and Jeff Seay remained when I left. Kelli may return late this afternoon. Alison Sheehey indicated she'll try at dusk today and dawn tomorrow to see if the Violet-crowned Hummingbird was a one time wonder, a twilight feeder, or dawn feeder. No indication that birders will check daily for awhile to see if it is an intermittent days feeder.
Regardless, here's Dave Sydek's eBird list with a pic.

For context, here's Alison's comprehensive "Violet-crownedless" list during her visit.
